Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval from music bloggers and the press. Half the World Away - by Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two notable covers that the artist has done. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. It earned her some attention. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is of finding an instrument in her attic and becoming enthralled by the music it could create. The parents of her May-Britt family along with Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. The Aksnes family advised her to compose. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. To counter her mother's suggestion that people should not be aiming at achieving fame through the songs she writes, but rather be aware of the significance of them as well as their contribution to society. She was suggested by her mother to sing her songs in public in order to make people aware of their importance and the ways they can affect the world. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family members until she turned fourteen. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. The only thing she loves is writing songs. Music is her favorite way to feel anything.
